The Grand Opening for the Jefferson County Wisconsin Habitat ReStore will be Saturday, March 6, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

The ReStore will be open to accept donations and sales every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

ReStore in 2010

Jefferson County Wisconsin Habitat for Humanity (JCWHFH) is excited to announce that the Jefferson County Wisconsin Habitat for Humanity ReStore will be open to accept donations as well as sell items on Saturday, March 6, 2010.  The new store is located at 1525 Summit Drive, Unit 2, in Fort Atkinson, which next to St. Vincent DePaul Society’s Thrift Shop.

 

Habitat ReStores are retail outlets where quality used and surplus building materials are sold at a fraction of normal prices.  Proceeds from ReStores are used to help local affiliates fund the construction of Habitat homes within the community. 

 

We are looking for volunteers to help run the ReStore.  For more information or if you wish to volunteer, please call the ReStore at 920-568-9345 or the affiliate at 920-397-7362. 

 

 Please refer to the donated item list below to see if your donation would be acceptable.  The affiliate kindly asks that donations not be left at the building site without prior approval.  Please keep in mind that our ReStore committee is all volunteer based, and so there will be a delay in getting back to you in answering your questions.  The ReStore is not staffed at this time, so we do apologize in advance in delays in our response time.

 

Items that the ReStore will accept and not accept as donations:

 

ReStore Products Acceptable

·        Doors (with frames only)

·        Appliances (items seven years old or less and in good working condition)

·        Electrical (fuses, breakers, etc.)

·        Furnaces

·        Flooring (tile, new carpet, wood, laminate)

·        Hardware (hinges, bolts, doorknobs, screws, nails, etc.)

·        Insulation

·        Lawn tools

·        Lumber

·        Furniture and accessories

·        Windows/ screens must be cased, good condition

·        Roofing

·        Siding – new only

·        Hand Tools

·        Power Tools

·        Lighting

·        Cabinets

·        Countertops

·        Plumbing

·        Plywood

·        Sinks

·        Shower Surrounds

·        Architectural items (columns, mantels, antiques, etc.)

·        Fans (ceiling fans must have mounting hardware)

·        Wallpaper –( new/unused only)

·        Sheet rock (Wallboard, drywall)

·        Vents

·        Masonry (cinderblock, bricks, etc.)

·        Appliances

·        Air conditioners/HVAC

·        Blinds – new or in excellent condition

·        Garage doors or door openers

 

 

Not Acceptable

·        Paint thinner or other hazardous or toxic chemicals

·        Broken or unframed glass

·        Pesticides (liquid or powder)

·        Toilets/ tubs

·        Damaged or broken items

·        Clothing

·        Toys

·        Mattresses

·        Any items with mold or mildew
